AXA IM hires new portfolio manager to join Healthcare team

AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) today announces the appointment of Catherine Tennyson as Healthcare Portfolio Manager.

Based in London, Catherine will be a co-lead Portfolio Manager on the Healthcare equity range which comprises of AXA IM’s Health, Biotech, and Longevity strategies. She will work alongside Cinney Zhang and Chris Eccles both Healthcare Portfolio Managers at AXA IM. She reports to Tom Riley, Head of Global Thematic Strategies.

Catherine joins AXA IM from Point 72 Asset Management where she was a healthcare research analyst, and studied medicine at Cambridge University.

Commenting on Catherine’s appointment, Tom Riley, Head of Global Thematic Strategies at AXA IM Equity said: “I am delighted to welcome Catherine to our team. Her robust experience in healthcare equities will help AXA IM strengthen and develop its thematics capabilities. Her medical background, alongside her responsible investing experience, will be instrumental in the management and continued development of our Healthcare related strategies and our broader global equity capabilities.”

The equity investment team is fundamentally driven, active in approach, and manages a range of ESG-integrated qualitative and quantitative investment solutions (including Global, Regional & Country, Thematics, Sustainable & Impact, Exchange Traded Funds).

Biography

Catherine Tennyson joined AXA IM as Portfolio Manager on 29 February 2024. She joins AXA IM from Point 72 Asset Management where she was a healthcare Research Analyst. She began her career in EU MedTech research roles at Citi and Bank of America Merrill Lynch before joining Impax Asset Management in 2021 where she was Global Healthcare Analyst. Catherine holds a bachelor’s degree in medicine from Cambridge University.
