AXA IM bolsters fixed income solutions team with CDI and Climate expertise
AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) announces two new hires in its fixed income solutions team, with Charles Fianko joining as Portfolio Manager, and Monique Carter as a Solutions Strategist, effective on 29 June and 26 May respectively.
Charles, who joins from Lloyds of London, will be responsible for managing Buy & Maintain credit portfolios, assisting the team in delivering outperformance and cashflow for wholesale and institutional clients. At Lloyds he was also a member of Climate Change Investment Committee and brings experience in tailoring corporate strategy to deal with climate change risks within investment holdings.
Monique, who joins from Insight Investment, will be working in the Investment Specialists and solutions team, designing and tailoring solutions to meet specific client needs, including sustainable and cashflow driven investments (CDI). She will also help institutional clients to navigate and adhere to new regulations.

Our fixed income solutions, with full ESG and climate integration, is helping our clients access the investment grade credit markets in a cost-efficient and responsible manner and Charles and Monique will be paramount to continuing the success of this service.”
The Buy and Maintain business at AXA IM has assets under management of €46 billion as at 31 March 2022. It is part of the €521 assets managed within the Fixed Income franchise overall (as of the end of March 2022).
Biographies
Charles Fianko
Charles Fianko began his career at Royal Bank of Scotland Group as a Customer Service Officer in 2008, and later joined F&C Asset Management PLC as a High Yield, Fund Manager Assistant, the role included supporting a team of nine Fund Managers across Money Market, Euro and Sterling Government, High Yield and Investment Grade Fixed Income portfolios. In 2014, Charles became an assistant investment manager contributing and assisting the implementation of Credit strategy, largely through trade execution, Credit research and portfolio construction.
In 2017, Charles joined Lloyd’s as a credit portfolio manager specialising in Global Investment Grade Corporate Debt portfolios for Lloyd’s of London insurance member clients, and Lloyd’s own treasury funds. Charles also joined the Climate Change Investment Committee in 2020 contributing to oversight and development of corporate strategy for dealing with climate change risks within investment holdings.
Monique Carter
Monique Carter began her career in investment management at Jupiter Asset Management as Marketing Assistant in 2004, then RAB Capital as a Client Services Assistant. In 2007, Monique joined Insight Investment in London as a Client Services Executive and later a Sales Support Associate at BNY Mellon. In 2011, Monique returned to Insight as an Investment Specialist within Fixed Income, the role included producing presentations, responding to client queries and delivering analysis, commentaries and reports.
