AXA IM appoints new portfolio manager focusing on thematics
AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) has appointed Megan Brennan as portfolio manager in its Thematic Equity team, effective immediately. Megan is based in London and reports to Tom Riley, Head of Global Thematic Strategies for AXA IM Core.
Megan joins from Sarasin & Partners LLP, where she spent 7 years as a portfolio manager and analyst on thematic equity and multi-asset funds. Her appointment bolsters a team whose franchise has been successfully growing over the past few years. Megan will work alongside Tom and portfolio manager Gregg Bridger, and will co-manage some of AXA IM’s global thematic strategies.

She has strong experience in running global thematic portfolios, as well as detailed fundamental analysis, and understanding disruptive and changing themes. She brings an investment mindset that is aligned with AXA IM’s fundamental investment process and philosophy, and we are confident she will help us further refine the investment process.”
AXA IM has a long history and heritage of running sector funds with its Global Technology, Healthcare and Biotech UK Unit Trusts. In 2015, AXA IM leveraged this expertise to launch its Thematic range of funds in 2015 with a Robotics strategy. Since then, AXA IM has developed a range of unique and innovative strategies and that have attracted a broad array of clients worldwide. Today, the thematic range encompasses 8 main strategies, with circa $9 billion of assets under management.
Biography
Megan began her career in 2012 at private bank and wealth manager, Coutts & Co. Having completed the graduate training scheme she was promoted to assistant fund manager, gaining experience in portfolio construction.
In 2017 she moved to Sarasin & Partners LLP, where she held the position of portfolio manager and analyst for a range of equity and multi-asset funds. In 2022, in recognition of her work, she was named one of Financial News’ Rising Stars of Fund Management and earned a spot in the PAM Top 40 under 40s.
Following seven years at Sarasin, she joined AXA Investment Managers’ equity team as a portfolio manager in Global Thematics. She attended Trinity College Dublin, graduating with a 2.1 in Business, Economics and Social Studies and is a CFA Charter holder.
